The CPT is happy to announce its 2021-2022 Resident in Situated Philosophy: Prof. Dr. Eman Elbana. Elbana is Professor of Environmental Design at Badr University in Cairo, Egypt and is also an accomplished visual artist. She will spend the year as a CPT Resident working closely with Bedouin women in South Saini, Egypt on a social design project titled, “Nuwiba Mosaics: Community Project.” The project uses participatory design methods to facilitate the creation of sustainable businesses for impoverished Bedouin women in Nuwiba (South Saini), using their extensive knowledge of visual arts and design. Ebana will be working remotely from her studio in Cairo, until she could have one in Nuweiba, and we’re happy for her to join the CPT community.
